Orb weavers from Greece

Apart from the argiope lobata photos that can be found in the other post here are some more pics of an other orb weaver spider that was found in Greece.
Not sure about the specie and I'm bored to search the net for same....

Great pics. you have a pic of the underside of the top orb weavers and do you know the body length?.

no pics of the underside. it was about 3cm large

Take a look at the size of the prey compared to the size of the spider....

Either Araneus diadernatus or Araneus angulatus. The angulatus have the should-like tubercles on the abdomen, which the one in picture #2 appears to have (kind of hard to tell though). Both of those species can easily be found all over europe and most of asia and even in parts of N. america. When I lived in Germany I saw tons of them as a matter of fact, very neat spiders...with an upside down cross;P
