    Arachnoraffle #2 - Win a P. metallica!!!

Arachnopets, in coordination with Frank Somma's Invert Empire, is able to bring you the opportunity to not only help support the site, but to possibly own the absolute HOTTEST tarantula to ever hit the market, Poecilotheria metallica

Not only that, but Frank guarantees that the sling will be FEMALE!!!

Now that we have that out of the way let's get to the boring stuff like the rules and how much the tickets cost...
    • This Arachnoraffle is open only to registered members with a continental U.S. shipping address. If the winner drawn does not have a continental U.S. shipping address another winner will be chosen. DO NOT enter if you do not have a continental U.S. shipping address.
    • Raffle tickets are $5.00 (U.S.D.) each. For every 4 tickets you buy you get 1 free. (ex. Buy 4, get 5. Buy 8, get 10. etc...) There is NO LIMIT to how many tickets you can buy.
    • Payments will be accepted via PayPal or Money Order.
    • PayPal payments can be made by clicking HERE. If paying by PayPal, be sure to include your Arachnopets User Name in the comments of the payment.
    • If paying by Money Order, you can get our contact information by either emailing Myself or Debby.
    • If paying by Money Order, please allow enough time for us to receive it. All Money Order's must be recevied before 5 p.m. EST Wed August 27th 2003. Arachnopets nor Invert Empire are responsible for any lost payments or delays due to any postal service. If payment is received after 5 p.m. EST August 27th 2003 it will be returned to the sender.
    • The Drawing will be held at or about 9 p.m. EST on August 27th 2003.
    • Odds of winning are 1 in however many raffle tickets are sold.
    • Most of all, Good Luck to All of you!!!

    Scott & Frank

BTW, if you have any questions, feel free to contact either myself or Debby.
Lay down I want to eat your heart out, to bring us even closer.

No way. Nuh uh. You won't get me to enter a contest for an agressive, fast, Old World Arboreal. There's just no way that will happen.

Not that I want to hurt the fund raising, but I think it's only fair to point out that everyone should save their money and not buy any tickets since I am going to win this contest. Hear that, no one else buy any tickets!

I have seen it advertised for $400.00 each. Hope that helps.

but, if you're just getting into T's i'd personally advise staying away from the poecs.... but that's just me, seeing as they are so fast...

unfortunately i don't believe i'm ready for a poec, so i'll have to stay out of this one... that and my g/f would kill me
And remember, the 5:30 show is at a Completely different time than the 7:30 show.

    Enjoy the Veal.

Yeah, I dont really have intentions of getting tickets, I was just curious. Instead im gonna go with a salmon pink bireater, since its a freebie coming with a pede. I already have its habitat set up for when he is a monster.

If you're not an experienced keeper and don't know much about Pokies, I STRONGLY suggest not getting one of these even if it is off a lucky lotto shot for $5. Market value aside, if you get yourself bitten, you won't care HOW much she's worth in the local pet store!

I've kept NW species and VERY FEW OW species for many years but having one of these would make me more than a little nervous!

Yeah, I hear arboreal species are tricky. I think if I get more spideys, i will only get terrestrial species. I like simple enclosures, that dont require lots of plants, rocks, deep substrates etc. Like I said, im not buyin tickets

Since this is a guaranteed female, she's worth a lot more than $400.

I don't care how much she's worth. I have made a vow not to purchase an Old World Arboreal. It could end in utter disaster.

You really should save the hsysterical hyperbole for one of the anti-Pokie threads that pops up from time to time instead of repeating this unfounded stuff in a thread that's about fund raising for this site that you spend so much time at.

Rationally speaking, you have just equated "utter disaster" with 18 hours of pain, 36 hours of feeling ill, and a few weeks of muscle cramps - essentially a bad bout of the flu. Are Pokie bites more likely to be potentially "utterly disasterous" than Brachy bites? Sure, but as far as the facts go, there is still zero reason to believe there is any real chance of them being an "utter disaster".
