hi,

i'm new on this forum.
i'm from Belgium so you know that here aren't many scorpions for sale!

normally I'm going to hold some scorpions over one year!
and I already know which species were I want to start with!

I have 7 boxes, and they have to be full up!

i was thinking about:

- Hadrurus
- Smerinigurus mesaensis
- Babycurus jacksoni
- Odontorus dendatus
- anuroctonus phaiodactylus
- ....

does anyone can tell me how I have to do the substrate?
the people who hold scorpions in my area awly use 2-3 inches of substrate!
and here I see magnificent boxes!
sometimes more then 10inch!

I know that the hadrurus, smerinigurus and anuroctonus are desert species, so they have to need lot of substrate!
what's the minimum of substrate I have to use?
first I was thinking about 5inches, but now when I see those pictures over here, I think I have changed my mind!

:)

How can I make a substrate that the holes won't collapse?
I'm very scary about this, because it will kill your scorpion!

maybe is that a reason that breeding won't work in Belgium, because we awly use 2inches of substrate!

Are the Odonturus and babycurus awly for advanced?
or can it be taking by a very good beginner?

i think those species don't need very much of substrate!

can I conclude, that all desert scorpions ( also androctonus and leiurus,...) need a very high substrate??

I hope someone can help me!

p.s. we want to transport scorpions and other invertebrates to Belgium with a group!
does anyone know a good shop who can shipped those animals over sea?

thanks
