I found one of these guys (took pics if any wanna see) in the house today. I've seen them before, but never knew what they were called. I googled "big red spider" and found it lol

I set the little critter free outside, but figured I'd mention it on here since it had been a while since I logged in :)

Yes we'd like pics! I'm still trying to find a live one. All I've foun d was one exuvia around my campus :(

Theres usually a bunch around my house in the spring/summer and a big variety of lycosids and jumpers. Almost collecting season:p

Anyone know why its abdomen looks all deflated, and I want to keep this guy, any advice for keeping these monsters?

It looks dehydrated (it didn't just lay eggs, because it's a male). If you want to keep it alive, put a drop of water in with it IMMEDIATELY.
