I just got some crickets from my local pet store, and in the bag there was some weird larvae in it. By searching the internet I think it is a dermestes beetle larvae. Here is a link to a picture of what it looks like:

I just want to make sure the crickets are still safe to feed to my scorps.

Thanks

Yep, I see them regularly in the cricketboxes. They are indeed dermestid beetla larvae and you can still feed those crickets.

How in the world do they get mixed in with the crickets? I noticed a few in the cricket box at my local PETSMART also. :? :?

I read that they use the larvae to keep the cricket cages clean. The larvae eat dead crickets and cricket waste. Also I heard that they are also used to feed crickets.
