Very large beetle needs an ID

nice find man! now my adress is.....haha..now but id love one or two for a insect collection...(i pin them) after there dead of course.

I found this massive creature in my room! :eek:
It's dead though, a friend of mine gave it to me last year.

Cool!! I deffinatly don't get things like that. Biggest we get are the chafers, long horn beetles and my most memorable for scaring my mom, Jeruselum crickets.

that's male Eupatorus gracilicornis, famous "5 horned beetle" (native to SE Asia - with different subspecies), we have it in Thailand. :)

yes, it grows pretty large, some specimens up to 90mm. up North near Laos border a cousin of my wife often gets plenty of them from his local hill tribe pupils (he's a teacher there). pretty recently some people have started to breed them quite sucessfully. I think I am gonna try after a while.
