They make them as often as they feel necessary.

On average, spiders make new sperm webs anywhere from once every few days to once every couple weeks.

GJ learning how to bump.

the palps will stay loaded for awhile, so generally males won't make them time after time after time with no mating. if he does encounter a female, or mate with one, you can almost bet money he'll make another very soon. i had a male go months without making a SW. and yes, i could tell when he did or did not make one. he never encountered a female, so after the initial one, there was no second.

Apparently my MM genic is insanely horny.

I've seen him make at least half a dozen sperm webs since he molted in March. And who knows how many he's made when I wasn't paying attention. He's torn so many down there's a thick white blanket of web on the floor in his favorite corner.
I got a few pictures of him making one.
