Collected a pair of these buthids, along with a juvenile Chaerilus on a short hike today. Here is the male (he was missing his telson when we found him):





Lychas scutilus?

Yes, could be Lychas scutilus. Where do you collect the scorpion?
I think without Telson he will die...but nice pictures ;)

yup looks Lychas scutilus to me a well :)

it will survive without the telsion as long as its not leaking and he can catch his meal

How should I feed them? I offered them mealworms last night but they backed away from even the smallest worms!

Very cool looking male, too bad its not a female because i know someone from Johor who frequent singapore with a lonely male :D

Anw i would suggest u to try feeding dead cricket
Just killed it and throw inside or u might wanna try handfeeding by cutting the head of the crix, squeeze out the liquid inside and hold it infront its chelicarae with a tong

Nah...These things happened all the time in the wilds. I think it should be ok, but I highly doubt that it will grow back though.

It is indeed L.scutilus and the male can survive without his telson. Just feed it smaller crickets, which they can subdue easy without the need of venom.
