So my Rosea just molted... first molt I've seen in my life, and I'm pretty stoked.

I just had a couple of questions:

1) What should I do with the old molted "skin"?
2) How long should I wait until I feed it again?

Cheers
Alex

well this may seem kinda wierd but i keep all my tarantulas molts, you never know, sometimes they pass away and its all you have left. (sorry to be so depressing it happened to me yesterday XD)

Well i waited 2 weeks before i fed my rosea after she had molted, she reared up at me during cage maintainance andi saw her fangs were black so i threw her 2 crickets, haha she was soo happy :D

do what you want with the skin, but be sure to remove it from the enclosure.
i would wait til her fangs are dark,an indication of them becoming hard, before feeding.

I also keep all my molts, I find people who don't know that spiders molt tend to like seeing the molt.

I find people who don't know that spiders molt tend to like seeing the molt.
especially in drawers, cabinets, underneath things, beside the toilet, etc etc... hahaha

i like to preserve the bigger / cooler molts. check out my pic thread for some of the stuff i do with them.

and it's cool to preserve a molt in the threat position. that's always a favorite.
