I picked up a 2.5 gallon tank for $1.99... except now I have to make a lid for it? Any suggestions? I will run out today to buy what I need...
I guess screen, but what should I attach it to?

I'm wondering if pet stores carry the framed screen
tops that they sell for 10 gal. and up for the
real little tanks like this. I guess you could
use a plank of wood from a lumber yd cut
to size untill you can get something else.
Something a little bigger with a rock or
something heavy on top? I'm sure you
will find something or find someone to
help your build one.

Did you notice? I am now an arachnosquire! Yah for me!
Anyway, I am going to the store to buy some screen, and some wood, which I will attempt to transform it into some type of lid.
BUT - that means I will have a nice cage with no spider...

Which species would you suggest for a tank this size?
thanks!

You can buy lids for 2.5 gallon tanks at a lot of pet stores. some are metal and they have locks and others are lids like a screen on a bigger tank.

Here is a picture of a pretty basic screen top I made. Make two tops, layfirst top down put screen over that add second top and screw the two together, Pretty simple. Greg

Yea pair of Collards and a bearded dragon, Livin in peace. She lost her mate and was pretty sad so I hooked her up with these two and she is her old self again, they have been together for a few months now. Greg

Cool, surprised the collareds haven't been going at her toes or tail.

Yea, I was pretty unsure about putting them together, but she was just so sad and I had to do something for her, she pretty much stopped eating, and just stayed in one place most of the day, this went on for a little over a week. I watched them real close for a couple hours and then pretty close for the next week and saw not even one little bit of aggression from any of them, they are all pretty much always together, really pretty cool. By far my favorite two lizards.
