Hi all,
I've been keeping a number of my tarantulas in Kritter Keepers by Lee's (http://www.leesaqpet.com/) and was curious if you all are doing the same? Also, I'm interested if anyone knows the gallon size for the Kritter Keepers identified below:
20010 - Mini Rectangle, 7-1/8"Long x 4-3/8"Wide x 5-1/2"High
20015 - Small Rectangle, 9-1/8"Long x 6"Wide x 6-5/8"High
20020 - Medium Rectangle, 11-3/4"Long x 7-3/4"Wide x 8"High
20025 - Large Rectangle, 14-1/2"Long x 8-3/4"Wide x 9-3/4"High
20030 - X-Large Rectangle, 15-7/8"Long x 8-3/8"Wide x 12-1/12"High
I keep most of mine in the Medium Rectangles as they seem to accomodate a 4.5 - 5" tarantula without any problems. I also keep my arborals (Psalmopeous) in the Large Rectangle to give them a little more height.

A gallon of water displaces 231 cubic inches of volume. You can use math to figure out the rest.

I just buy one of those a little smaller than the midium size one. i think they are perfect as they are not too large of the T's. i think the 10 gallon are way too big for such small animals as the T's. I think the goliat will do fine in the largest kritter keeper.

A li'l of this...a li'l of that

I use the mediums for my juvies and smaller species and use a large for the adults. I think the standard 10G tanks are best for Blondi's.

We have got here in Poland very similar Kritter Keepers.
I use for my T's only Mini, Small and Medium size Rectangle :)

On the website, the address you posted here, I have also seen Small Round. I think they could be quite good for slings and juvies of arboreal species...
But I have never seen any of those here in Poland.

i am a sucker and always buy the x-large for my adult T's. most of my adults like to burrow, and need the digging room or the wider floorspace. My aboreals are in other containers.

Hiya Ralph,

I don't use critter keepers. I use everything from delicups to vials to gallon jars to aquariums to rubbermaids/sterlites of various sizes. Mainly 'cause I gotta get the best deal spacewise for my buck! :D

When they get to the size of growing out of their vial I usually throw them into the smaller of the critter keepers, then depending on the genus I will throw them into a medium or large or keep them in the small.

I mostly have mini's. as soon as the T's hit 4" I transfer to a 2.5 gal tank/screen. Here a 2.5 gal tank is cheaper and larger than most larger KK's and you can keep most T's in it for years to come.

I use 20094 - HerpHaven,Small Breeder Box for my terrestrials and the 20088 - HerpHaven, Large Rectangle for my burrowers. For my arboreals I use 1 gal jars. These are only for when they are larger as slings and small juveniles get appropriately sized deli cups or vials.

No, a T. blondi can't be kept in a large KK, at least not an adult. A juvie, yes, but an adult, no. Not and have any room to move at all.

If you need more height just try turning it sideways. but if you trying to get more and for you buck try being a little inventive and try a few things
