I have a T. Blondi that shed a week ago. Last night she flipped herself over on her back in her flower pot and built a sheet above her and just laid there for about 15 minutes. She then tore the sheet down and flipped back over. Why did she do that? What purpose did it serve? I have never seen any of my spiders do that.

Sounds like your "she" might be a "he" and making a sperm web.

Might just be to secure her hide as spiders do do that although as he said it may be a spermweb

do your ts palps have the "boxing gloves" or looked clubbed? Im not 100% on this but dont think MMs of this genera/sp. get tibial hooks. The hooks are usually the MOST OBVIOUS indicator of a MM, THEN the palps

If you can, get some pictures of the pedipalps. If you can't you will be looking for something like this: http://tarantulas.com/photos/ther_male.jpg
From the sounds of it, most likely a mature male especially if you see the same process you describe happen again.
