so i came home from work to find my nhandu has matured into a male...Any idea how long the males of this sp live for. has anyone kept there male without breeding him, how long did he last?
If you keep him in a smallish enclosure, on the moist side, you might get a year or even more. The more worked up he gets and tries to wander around for a mate, the shorter his lifespan. Make sure he has plenty of water and feed him if he'll take it. Eventually he won't take food and will just dry up and slow down.
I have a rosea male that is over a year post mature, and my G pulchripes male was still plump and glossy even 6 months after maturity. Too many factors depend on how you keep him... possibly more than his species.
