I by accident figured out how to breed and pupate waxworms.

Critter keeper lined with 2 or 3 layers of paper towels on the bottom.

I could not find odorless, colorless beeswax, so I crushed up Special K (plain rice) cereal to a fine powder, put in a bowl, and added clover honey, then mixed in water until the mixture was thin and able to be poured (little thinner than syrup), but not like water. Pour mixture evenly over top layer of paper towels, but enough that the paper towels arent waterlogged. The honey-liquid should be absorbed by the paper and the special k mix will remain on top. Add your waxworms (without the wood shavings that they come in), leave them in a dark, but warm (not hot place) for about 2 weeks. They will wander, then find a spot and sit for about a week and pupate.

They ate my mixture even though beeswax was missing but it was an easy way to keep them alive!
