Today I got my first millipede, and right away a real beauty :}

It's a Madagascar fire millipede...Aphistogoniulus sp.
I think it's a female, so I might start looking for a male specimen :)
She's about 4.3" (11cm) now.

Yeah this gorgeous little lady is definately female, I'm am by no means an expert on milipedes but it is pretty easy to sex them.

Yesterday I went back to the store, cuz the owner managed to get some more fire millipedes!
Even more...he got me a breeding pair :D

The new ones.

And the 3 together...one is already digging his way in the substrate :rolleyes:

Thx, J!
I hope the same :)

The ones that I bought yesterday are a bit smaller then the one I bought first (of which I think it's a mature female), so I think I'll have to wait till the other 2 are grown mature to see them breed :?

Don't count on it the males are usually smaller by nature. They are probably full grown or just about so don't give up hope on them. :)
