I've wanted a pandinus imperator for years and I finally got a sub adult female just over 2 weeks ago.

However, I don't know if she's fat, gravid or going into a moult. A lot of people have gone with gravid but I'm not sure.

Any ideas?

If she's sub adult she can't be gravid....only adults can become gravid. Therefore, she's probably in pre moult...

Very nice, she just looks well fed to me, possibly pre-molt not to sure.

How long does a pre moult take roughly?

I'm so relieved that's she's not gravid, I really don't want scorplings lol.

She's not feeding at the moment but I understand that's pretty normal?

It could be a couple of weeks to a couple of months+, just depending on humidity, heating etc, she looks a good size and full so she probably not hungry, but yes normal behavior.

She's such a laid back girl, not a bad bone in her body.....yet! Lol

Her telson looks pretty dark in that picture meaning adulthood. Not sure if that is do to the camera, lighting, or some other factor though.

This is not an adult P.imperator. She is just fat and will molt in time...just be patient. She will hide under something, close her hide with some substrate and molt, maybe within two months...

She's not an adult yet, her telson is more of a darkish orange and not red.
