    Arrow New Millipede

    Found this millipede a few days ago while looking for herps.

    Steven, I actually know what type of millipede this is, at least it's Latin name - Archispirostreptus syriacus. It's gets up to 10-12 cm. I have no idea how many types of millipedes there are in Israel, but I do know that these are the biggest of the Diplopoda here.

    I believe it excretes a poison called parabenzochinon. (I know it excretes poison and a stuff called parabenzochinon, though I'm actually not 100% sure that that is the poison. If anybody knows something about this I'd be glad to hear more )

    I always think it is nice that you have soo much confidence in my milli-ableities but I am only really starting to know the African ones I have.
    Nice milli though.
    The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one...
