It's slow but 100% sure. I just cut a large windshield for a motorcycle perfectly and flawlessly. I used a bare hacksaw blade while running water over the cut to keep the blade clear. With the curved part I ground off the back of the blade until it was slightly less than 1/4 inch across.
I'm sure there are faster powered methods, but using patience this was as precise and accurate as it could possibly get.
