I posted a while back about these kids having a pretty bad mite problem, but it seems to be getting better. I had tried to brush them off with a moist q-tip and paintbrush but to no real avail, however I noticed that they cohab with other inverts and were the only ones with mites. I figured maybe they just came with them. Meanwhile, in the moist half of the enclosure, a whole mess of springtails have sprung to life and the mite problem has halved. Whatever residue they were hitching a ride to is probably gone, and they seem a bit happier. I've seen them eating and they appear content enough....for millipedes, anyway. Hope you enjoyed the photos.

They really are. They're not only good pet "bugs" but they're extremely important to the ecosystems where they live in the wild too.
