Hello I was hoping to get some advice on this species. My dealer has .5" slings for priced at 120 is that a normal price? If I were to buy two of them would I have a decent chance for a female? are they hardy as slings? Are they kept similar to B. Smithi? Thanks in advance for your time!

I say the price is right if the seller can show you proof what the parents look like. Make sure that they are in fact the real B. baumgarteni. But if you don't really know how to properly identify that species I would reconsider purchasing them. We have been seeing a lot of sub adult and adult Brachypelma baumgarteni hybrids here in the states and I know they are everywhere else besides here.
The care is the same as the smithi.
