Milli heat source

Hi I am new to these boards and just had a quick queston to ask.I know that most people provide there millis with under tank heaters but would like to know if you could use a heat lamp with a red bulb.The bulb wattage would only be about 40 watts or so.

i havent heard too much about a heat bulb for milli's, but it should work as long as the heated area isnt over 85 Fehrenheit, and localized to one area of the tank only, want to be able to let them get cool if needs be...

I am using an undertank heater for a 5 gallon in my 15 gallon tank here in california and seems to be more than enough. Air temp is fairly constant 70-75 Fehrenheit in house but i'll see my African giant blacks curled up there every now and then...
