Probably more important than the camera though is the lens, these below were shot through a Nikkor 105mm macro.

When I get the new eye I'll work on getting some nice high-X focus stacks of the nymphs ... but I'm pretty happy with these too considering the relatively low resolution. :)

Amazing what a molt to second instar can do. Still under half an inch but looking now like a true Ghost instead of black ants. :)

The look like aliens. And they're bi-pedal pretty much. I bet on some far away planet in another galaxy, mantids are the size of humans and the dominant species. {D
