Hello all,

I recently acquired a 1 cm, female Calif. trapdoor spider. However, she hasn't moved for 24 hours and is barely responsive. I sloped her enclosure, mixed some peat and sand with the dirt in her environment, and made a "burrow." Is she injured, or just stressed out? :?

To be honest she looks dead. Gently flip her over to see if she rights herself.

These spiders can be killed by stress. Just merely being outside of their burrow basically gives them a heart-attack.

HOWEVER. Dont give up in it. place it in an ICU, it looks like it recently molted, which means it's probably fatally injured.

Thankfully, she isn't dead, and took a tiny cricket yesterday. Seems to be a lot better now, thanks guys!

How did it work out? I have a few trapdoors and most of them appeared dead when I transplanted them into their new enclosures. But in the morning, they had all dug a burrow and are doing fine.
