Nicely confusing unscientific link there. Aquatic or flies? Going by their logic the beetle that came home with me rides bicycles.

I am guessing the larvae look like native hellgrammites here.
Probably quite similar I would imagine. I was thinking more along the lines of size :). hellgrammites can be fairly large for an aquatic larvae. I wonder how much larger these ones are?

Largest aquatic insect and they show the adult which is far from aquatic:p, haha sometimes you just have to laugh.

Though I rarely post I peruse often and "the snark" is an entertaining read!

I usually leave the country for National Pollute Nature Day, but instead I pulled one of those in my backyard on the 4th of July this year before escaping to a movie theater to pass the rest of the evening in relative peace and quiet.
