Hard to tell from that pic. Since you can't go by color, look at the skin beneath the hair on the rump. When it gets shiny (hit it with a flashlight), you know that a molt is imminent.

Its really not a color change most look for, its a dulling of the colors, they will get very drab, but essentially stay the same color, the skin on the rump, however, will blacken before it gets that shine I spoke of.

Difficult with this species, too because of their good appetite...they may not fast prior to a molt....mine never has anyway.

Looks very much like premolt to me. Overflow the water dish a little then leave it be and all should go well.

I agree, even with taking the flash into consideration, it appears to have that dark abdomen so I'll lean towards premolt. Nice spider you've got there by the way!

It may take another day or so but I'm sure it will be very soon, judging by that butt ;)

Keep an eye out for when it is on its back :)

Thanks pyro fiend didnt think of that il, give it a week to harden then I will get her in a clear plastic tub and get a snap of the underside im pretty shure its a female but my guess is based on the blond colour on the carapace the males iv seen have a black carapace but this could be a change occouring on the ultimate molt not too shure ????

If the abdomen is twisted, try using some soapy water to soften it. Then use some tweezers to carefully untwist it so that you can check for a little girlie flap :)
