I want to build some lids, for new enclosures.
which thickness of plexiglass is best??
two for 10 gallon tanks.
one for a 20 gal long tank, for female LP.

how do you make them escape proof??
I plan on using them for terrestrials, or at-least two of them.

thanks!

Use Plexiglas/acrylic that is at least 1/8" thick. You can buy retaining clips at your local LPS or make your own from PVC pipe.

This is what I did this week. I ordered two 1/8" thick pieces of extruded acrylic to fit my tank at the local plastic shop. I had to shave down the edges because I measured poorly, but it still turned out well. :p I drilled some holes through the lid, hot-glued the base to the tank, then used modeling glue to affix a handle. I'm waiting for the handle to finish curing before attaching the clear hinges. As you can see in the photos, I'll be assembling clips from boiled PVC pipe.
