Tarantulas and lids: info.

Just though I'd share what a tarantula can do in a night if it wants to. This was from my 3" C.darlingi that I recently bought.

I see you and I use the same containers :D. It shouldn't be a surprise to see that they can tear up something as tough as wire mesh, some T's in the wild make burrows in soil almost as hard and compact as concrete, yet it always amazes me.

Darlingis are tough, my female is around 4 inches and her fangs are 1/2 inch each. I've seen her attempt to carve out of her sterlite container, since then I've fed her more often and she seems to have chilled on the escape attempts. Though if a tarantulas want to get out they will do whatever they can :p

I seen a 7" LP get out through a vent tarantulas are underrated escape artist!

Tarantulas have been referred to as eight-legged can openers.
I have to give Anastasia credit for that term. If you search the phrase you'll find multiple threads on Ts chewing through vents and enclosures meant to contain them. Pretty amazing, these critters. :)
