Leaving my apartment today I notice that the Virginia creeper sphinx I left on my window has died, its body is laying on the porch....however, it deposited four eggs on my window screen!

3 of the eggs are cream colored and one is reddish (presuming thats indicitave of fertility)

Can't wait on them to hatch....however, I'm somewhta concerned for the baby pillars, as there's not any vegitation remotely near (i'm on the third floor of my building)

Find out what kind of greens they eat in the wild and gather some up for the caterpillers. :)

Hey, sounds cool! For vegetation, you might try tomato, tobacco, or potato plant leaves. Actually, I'm not sure about the red egg, but the cream colored eggs are probably fertile. Good luck!

Actually try native "weeds" for feeding like Queen Anne's Lace and that type of plant that you see growing in fields where you live. Also try things like local hardwood, shrub, and berry leaves as well. You can also check this site for some of the plants native butterglies eat

And yes, I read moth in the descriptionm but they have similar eating habits. Plus you might find links to moth info there as well :)
