First frogs, now salamanders =(

I suspect the USA will be next because Congress is full of people who don't do any work, except to raise money for their elections.

One cool fact, the USA has the greatest diversity of salamanders in the world, take that tropical localities!! ;P

You beat me to it...

I have been away from the animal-keeping stuff (for the most part) for a while now...it would suck if I came back to it only to find that all of the caudates I would have liked to keep/breed were banned to keep this from getting around.

What's even more frustrating is that Batrachochytridium sp. infections, if caught in time, can be eliminated with an over-the-counter antifungal medication with a very low LD50 value.

The US already experiences massive salamander die offs. I used to do a fair bit of work in the US with amphibians and I've reported iridovirus and ranavirus mass die offs to the USGS in RI and Wyoming. Its across the country.

Well, let's all give the media a few days to tell us it's because of dwindling fish stocks and how california is "running out" of water, and the mysterious catalyst being us not voting.

Yeah, it looks like one of the side results of today's elections will be mass salamander die offs.
