Where and how do you buy your substrate? Do you go to a LPS and buy the bags/compressed bricks? Or do you have alternative methods? How do you store larger amounts of substrate?
Manure isn't a good idea for spiders. It releases ammonia as it breaks down, besides the bacteria issues.organic potting or top soil (doesn't have added chemicals, just manure).
I buy my substrate from any place that sells the kind i am looking for.
That's outrageous. I have been wasting money. Thank you.Bagged top soil from Home Depot, $1.50 for 40 lbs (cheap stuff, no fertilizer added). It's the only thing I use for my collection. It'll be moist to some degree. If it's too moist for the spider, I'll pour some into a cardboard box and let it dry.
This was the point of this thread. :wink:That's outrageous. I have been wasting money. Thank you.
My local home depot employees didn't know what coco fiber was,...I should apply there, easy job ?don't know much... your hired. You can get them at any local garden center or big box one like Lowes or Home Depot though we are headed into the winter season the selection might not be there but you can definitely find it online.
