Lampropelma sp. 'Borneo' males start showing tarsus and metatarsus coloring early as two inches.

2" Male

Leg I tarsus and metatarsus

2" Female

Leg I tarsus and metatarsus

By 3" the males other legs have gained the colors.........

3" Male

3" Female

When the boys mature.......there's no doubt on the sex. ;)

Thanks, great info. It certainly doesn't take long with them.

Hello
I mentioned this a while back in a post,I measured the specimen at 6cm and noted females become black from the tip of the toe upwards. I am glad to see I am not the only one that has observed it,and the female of these are absolutely stunning.

Excellent pics - very useful in illustrating your point.

Have you seen any similar dimorphism in other Lampropelma sp.? Thanks.
