got back from California with this little guy. Thinking it's a Vaejovis russelli but want your thoughts.

This is Uroctonites montereus, great find! While widespread, this is never abundant. V. russelli is not found in california, except alongside the colorado river, most of their natural range is in mexico, but also found in new mexico and arizona.

Can you PM me the locality of this specimen?

A general locality (even county) would help. It looks to be a species in the Pseudouroctonus minimus complex.
