Without any great difficulty, it is possible to train a cat to go through a door each time the door is opened. If you have a neurotic curious cat this will work 100% of the time.
The next step in this experiment is figuring out how to harness and utilize cat-through-doorway energy into some useful form. I'd take a video but I'm certain I would get called before judge, jury and executioner for some obscure form of animal abuse.
On the positive side, for those of us who find themselves in a room without the freakiest foggiest idea of why you went in there, you can now feel there was some purpose to that lost few moments of your life: To let the cat in/out.
