Would D Hydei or 1/4 or 1/8 or 1/2 cricket work for Instar 2-4 mantids? Please answer as one of them molted. I will post pictures at the end of May.

How large are the mantids (body length)? I think any of those will be fine, but I might be getting my Carolina mantids mixed up with my Chinese mantids.

They are from 1/2 of am inch to an inch. How much longer would the Melonganster flies last? Would other mantids "like recently hatched Chinese mantids" work too? Now please answer.

D. hydei would be fine for the 1/2" mantids and the 1/2" crickets would be fine for the mantids around 1". You can still feed D. hydei to the 1" mantids, but they'll need a lot more to eat.
