Bristle of hairs, nothing to worry about. By the way good looking A. geniculata you have.T's "alopecia".
No problem. My only suggestion is try not to get any urticating hairs on you. Which I know that's hard to do at times.Lol that's it ?! Oye vey ...
Thank you Jose !
Just out of curiosity did you purchased your spider as A. geniculata or A. brocklehursti?Trust me... I have every intention of avoiding those hairs.
I purchased her as A. geniculata, I would have preferred A. brocklehursti.Just out of curiosity did you purchased your spider as A. geniculata or A. brocklehursti?
Okay! As for myself I like A. geniculata, of the fact that this species has a lot more white coloration on the legs. I almost wish this species was completely white on the legs.I purchased her as A. geniculata, I would have preferred A. brocklehursti.
I vote Acanthoscurria geniculata because isn't just a T but a mythOkay! As for myself I like A. geniculata, of the fact that this species has a lot more white coloration on the legs. I almost wish this species was completely white on the legs.
As for the A. brocklehursti I do love the black coloration that almost covers the whole entire body. Black is my favorite color with a lot of things.
As for this two species I would go with Acanthoscurria geniculata, this species would be my #1 pick of the two.
Acanthoscurria geniculata - Female
Acanthoscurria brocklehursti - Female

Votes please! Votes! Which of the two would you prefer?
From my understanding spermatecae is not valid for description of any tarantula. But no matter what if I have any wild caught or captive born specimens of any species, I try to remind myself to post photo of the spermatecae. It's a difficult pick either way.. I like them both but I'm going to stick with brocklehursti.
Main reason I would have preferred A.brockelhursti was a previous male I had.
He was highly defensive and never kicked a hair at me.
I know that was just him but ... I want that behavior back.
I thought that you needed to use spermatheca to tell them apart ??!
I'm with you on that. They are similar, but different species. As for geniculata and brocklehursti spermatecae both species so far has looked the same. Some people are almost positive that both are the same species but I don't believe that for a minute.
