Just out of curiosity did you purchased your spider as A. geniculata or A. brocklehursti?
I purchased her as A. geniculata, I would have preferred A. brocklehursti.

Okay! As for myself I like A. geniculata, of the fact that this species has a lot more white coloration on the legs. I almost wish this species was completely white on the legs.

As for the A. brocklehursti I do love the black coloration that almost covers the whole entire body. Black is my favorite color with a lot of things.
As for this two species I would go with Acanthoscurria geniculata, this species would be my #1 pick of the two.

Acanthoscurria geniculata - Female

Acanthoscurria brocklehursti - Female

Votes please! Votes! Which of the two would you prefer?

I vote Acanthoscurria geniculata because isn't just a T but a myth :)
But really it's hard because "Genics" are one of my fav. T's.
musculosa is great also, i miss mine.

It's a difficult pick either way.. I like them both but I'm going to stick with brocklehursti.

Main reason I would have preferred A.brockelhursti was a previous male I had.
He was highly defensive and never kicked a hair at me.
I know that was just him but ... I want that behavior back.

I thought that you needed to use spermatheca to tell them apart ??!

From my understanding spermatecae is not valid for description of any tarantula. But no matter what if I have any wild caught or captive born specimens of any species, I try to remind myself to post photo of the spermatecae.

As for geniculata and brocklehursti spermatecae both species so far has looked the same. Some people are almost positive that both are the same species but I don't believe that for a minute.

Put me down also as thinking they are both nice looking, but I prefer the genic in a side by side comparison.

To pick one over the other because of looks is laughable. Unless you have a skilled eye as to what to look for , they're virtually indistinguishable species.

I'm with you on that. They are similar, but different species.

I've seen this discussed before.
With the pictures you provided they definitely have physical differences.
Imo it would be wise to keep them as separate species.
Allot of poecs are almost indistinguishable yet they are separate species.
