I knew this scorp was incorrectly labled when I bought it. Opisthacanthus carinatus just doesnt sound right. It's a beauty, and has some pretty good attitude about it. Frequently visable, despite being an obvious burrower. I lean towards Opistophthalmus carinatus, however there may be another possiblity or two.. :?

pandinus cavimanus

though i have never kept them, i have heard that they are rather easy to acquire, and are much more active/agressive than their brothers the emps.

I'm also 99% sure that it's a Pandinus cavimanus. Been getting lots of them in Tanzanian imports. Beautyfull scorps with a attitude :)

That is such a pretty scorpion. Good photo of him too. Is he one of the Asian forest type scorpions? I love the irridescense the photo gives off. Where can we find one of these?

I seen some that look EXACTLY like the emp tho!! A little smaller in size but exactly the same!

your right though, if I ever find the pic of the two ill post it, they look exactly the same exept the claws on the aisain are different!

found it, does this not look like an emp?, even the stinger is the same color

in terms of "big black scorpion with yellow stinger" i agree..

but really its totally different =D
that spinifer is PITCH BLACK. ulike emps,
and the claws are long and thick, whereas empeorr claws are short and broad, but not very thick

As you become more experienced you'll see the big difference like Carnell is talking about...I see it as well, but when I just got into this hobby I didn't see much of a difference either.
