Mealworms......

How long wil mealworms stay at the larvae stage? Mine are molting but still no pupae or beatles..... They are also a bit slow and almost seems dead sometime :?

It depends on the food supply and temp at which you keep them. Higher temps and better food will result in faster growth. IME, they stay as mealworms for several weeks. I'm talking from birth though. The mealworms you get at the pet store are already a few weeks along. Be sure you put a slice of apple or cucumber (other fruits/veges would work as well) in with them once or twice a week for hydration. You can really slow them down by putting them in the fridge. Prior to feeding them to your T's though, keep them at room temp with proper food to make them more nutritious for your T. (I have no scientific facts to back that up)
