Just a question regarding activity level between Male and Female scorpions.

I have a few scorpions of different species and I find that the male scorpions are always more active than females.

I find that all my females normally just hide under their burrows, scrapes etc while the males are out wandering.

I don't have any scorpion sub-adults or adults that are the same species and was just wondering if any of you have noticed that males are more sctive than females?

hey
the H.polystictus (father of yours) is very active, and comes out every other night
the mother comes out 1-2 times a week

males are more active to seek out the females,

I thought that. There is one little H. poly that is always out. The other 2 are just under their bark hides most the time.

Are your swamms the same? Males more active than the females?

yea the swamms show the same

BTW, im not sure if baby or subadult males show this..
it wouldnt be useful as they cant mate yet, so dont hedge all your bets on that one being a male

just as a note, the father is 1/2 (or less) the size of the female, thats a heck of a difference, yet he still managed to mate with her
