I have some mites on some of my pedes and was wondering if the trick using vasoline on a qtip works like it does on tarantulas? I know that it will be a lot harder to pick them off a pede than a tarantula. Or does someone have a better way to remove mites from larger pedes?

I have heard of using lady bugs but figured that the pedes would eat them, but what is IME?

I have tried..

I gave the lady bugs a try and it just ate all of them before they could eat any of the mites. I have tried to dry the chage out and give it a water dish but the mites are on the back of the pede. It is around 6.5-7 inches long so putting it in the sink and giving it a bath it going to be a bit difficult. Does anyone have any other ideas?

I've recently aquired S. subspinipes with some mites. I've placed both animals on 100% calcium carbonate with a water dish. On week two now and no problems with hydration. The pede also eats everything that is fed to her. Mice, roaches and crickets. :}
