I know these aren't the greatest pics, but my digital camera is not of the highest quality. My Fiance found this scorpion at his work here in San Diego California. He works in shipping and recieving, so it could be local, or it could've hitched a ride from somewhere. Any ideas from the pics what kind it might be? I know very little about scorpions....this one is maybe barely an inch in length.

It appears to be a Vaejovid, have you looked at the gallery in the "scorpion files"?.

most California species are very hard to identify
i was in S.D. just the othernight, would have loved to find something similar...

my first guess would be a Paruroctonus species...

I would have to say it is probably a Vaejovis spp. or less likely, Serradigitus spp. based on the thickness of the metasoma(tail)...Pretty sure its not Paruroctonus spp. Other than those speculations, the photo is not sharp enough to make any further guesses as to its species.
