i think its more likely to be Brazilian Whiteknee Tarantula..............Acanthoscurria geniculata

brocklehursti seem to have more of a reddish colouration on the hairs

Hello,

I think you will find that the pet trade Geniculata and Brocklehursti are the same spider anyway.

Just my two pennies worth.

Why do you say that?
People who have looked a specimins of both have suggested that there are no taxonomical differences between the two.

However, they cannot be certain. The problem is there is no way of knowing if they were looking at the "real" pet trade brockelhursti.

There is also the suggestion that the two have been hybridised anyway.

Regards.

Stew.

I thought that the A. brocklehursti has smaller stripes then A. geniculata so I would say A. geniculata...
