Has anyone had any experience with these? (Click here , and scroll down to Stegodyphus sp)? I don't think they are the Stegodyphus sp they have them listed as (from my searches, Stegodyphus seem to be a semi-social spider, nothing like the one the have in the pic), but they look pretty neat anyway.

Cheers,

Thanks Cristoph,

i think you're right, it does look like a Carparachne sp. I seem to remember Steven had one of these, i'll do a few searches and see what i can find.

Cheers,

Stegodyphus are also known as "velvet-spiders" (like you said,... semi-social)
guess it's the explanation for the mislabeling as these "desert-spiders" also have a "velvet-like" abdomen ;)

common-names  ;)

PS: seems to be alot of these Carparachne on the European market again,...
beautifull spiders !!!!

While you are there, check out Cyclocosmia ricketti (Chinese Trap Door) just above that. Look at the picture. That is a strange spider. Should have named it Bartcosmia Simpsonetii.
