I don't know, prices seem to good to be true. (even his list prices are cheaper than all the places I've seen) Chances are its a reputable buisness, its just that such low prices with such a large varied stock of animals, gives one pause. Unless you can buy from him directly in person, I 'd hold off. Then again its cheap enough that if you do get burned your not out much money.

I think you guys are assuming the images are what is being sold. Click on the image, you see the sizes. They are tiny slings so really they are on the same level and in some cases much more than what is offered by online spider dealers.

Not just the tarantulas but for most of his stock (lizards, snakes et c.) prices seem to be on the lowside. With unknown/unproven merchants I'd rather purchase in person but that just my paranoia.

Yeah, I didn't see any ridiculously low prices....in fact, most of his reptile prices were pretty high IMO.

Be Warned Guys. :embarrassed:

While surfing the site, I noticed that a LOT of the pics had the copyright owner names removed or attempted to be removed. I noticed one and sent a message to the owner and they informed me that they did NOT give permission to use their pic; nor were they asked or contacted to obtain permission.

Just thought I would let you all know what I found out.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I personally would not trust a dealer who cannot supply a ISP realetd email address, eg AOL, I am always reluctant to send money to people using yahoo, Gmail and MSN email address's.

here is the email i have sent them to their Gmail address

Hi
It has been brought to my attention that you are displaying one of my copyright images on your website without permission. I am not adverse to people using my images, but I do take offense when attempts are made to remove my copyright from the image and the image then displayed as your own.
The page in question is this one.
http://pettrade.net/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=161
And the original unedited image is here.

Originating IP would be from Gmail since its a web-based mail service, wouldnt it be? or does Gmail headers let you see the ip of the host that initated the email?

the actual website is registered to someone out of South Korea and hosted in Illinois.

it is kinda hokey to have a contact on the website that does not use the same domain name as the actual site

there is a key in some email headers called
X-ORIGINATING-IP or something like that, and it sometimes lets me see the person's hometown. not always... but all i wanted was the Korea part anyways :)

Moderator's note

Remember everyone, that in the US you need an import/export license to legally bring animals into the US or to ship them out. Anything else is illegal and could land you in a boat load of trouble. AB in no way condones any illegal trades, sales or transactions.

The person that lives in the US needs an import/export license to bring in or ship out legally, not you.

Their website says that they have a warehouse in Miami. I think he's saying he has a licence to import stock to the warehouse.

If you put something in the shopping cart, a shipping calculator comes up. Express mail USPS delivery is $26.80. definately wouldn't be coming from Korea.
