Hey all,

my asian jumper, Hyllus diardi molted again and is now either subadult or adult. As the colouration shows, it´s a male!

Now i´m waiting for my other specimen to catch up with growth and present me with a female....

Most def a true heartbreaker, very "expressive" eyes, don´t you think? {D

Greetings,

Stefan

Hi,

i´ve four other specimen sitting here, to get one girl....
...so i guess the chances are pretty ok. :)

Ahh, you noticed the "horns",too! Interesting: all slings, regardless the gender show this "horn-style" hairs. With adults, only female show them, as far as i know, which means the pictured specimen is expected to loose them with the next molt.

This kinda hairs are apparently not species-related, as i´ve seen of several other jumper species showing these hairs. Would be even more interesting to learn, if all species show them in both genders while they´re still immature, with males loosing them with their maturation molt.

Greetings,

Stefan
