it is a new species in the hobby, but not newly discovered species

as for the newly discovered, there are more than just one
http://www.nhm.ac.uk/nature-online/...story/science-at-the-museum/our-global-reach/
click the madagascar on map choose the bottom one and click on slide show
ALSO CHECK THE VIDEO!
THE ONE THAT GUY COLLECTS IS MASSIVE!
also notice the natural environment is fairly dry, total opposite of most online caresheets say
yet the "real "new species is not described yet as the guy in the vid says it is a new genus
is it this one http://schabenforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=632 ?

That was big, and surprisingly they werent sluggish, but pretty fast, and these had very sharp spines, they drew blood! He said they may be diurnal, coming out in the night or day. What do they eat by the rocks, I saw no fallen wood or vegetable matter.

Think those were bigger than a blaberus giganteus?

it all depends what aspect ur counting in
giganteus got longer wings as the hissers are wingless, so giganteus are bigger than hissers (wingspan)
giganteus are not even heavier than fusca
and as for body mass and length, several species of Hissers are bigger than giganteus

ya they are suprisingly fast, so don't let them out to explore the exotic long island fauna when u get them
