Hi everyone,

Are there records of cross-bred scorps? I've only heard one and that's the Parabuthus transvillosus. Is this really possible? Especially for the species under the same genus? Thanks!

According to the book "Biology of Scorpions" by Gary Polis they were successful at crossbreeding A mauritanicas with A australis

Thanks Brian! However, once they were cross-bred, they cannot produce offsprings anymore right? Are there records of these cross-bred species producing offsprings?

Sorry for these questions but there are pretty insistent members on our local forum with regards to cross breeding Heterometrus species. Specifically spinifer and loaticus.

Unless he is a scientist or a veteran hobbyist I would say no to cross breeding, it is far to easy to destroy the genetics of a species through cross breeding... No no no in my opinion.

we need to worry about breeding all of the pure species first...and we've got a long ways to go...
