Gecarcinus quadratus? I remember seeing a care sheet a while back, but it's hidden itself from me. I do remember that the article recommended a semi-aquatic set-up, with a sloping sand bank.

Ah, right under my nose: link.

Hi,

These are EXTREMELY hardy, and easy to care for.

I kept mine with a schneiders skink in a 20L tank with 50% water, 50% land. i eventually moved it into a large childs pool with my turtle. Mine ate fruits, turtle food, veggies....just about anything not moving. They are pretty big, too. Mine never attempted to pinch, it seemed pretty calm. he also preferred land over water...i have rarely seen him in the water swimming, or in the water at all.

This is all based on personal knowledge, i kept mine succesfully for several months under these conditions. also, i used no special lighting.
