    Talking Arachnocontest #7 - Exotrivia

    Arachnocontest Rules And Regulations
    • Arachnocontests are only open to residents of the continental United States. Sorry to everyone from Canada and elsewhere, but unless you can provide an address in the US where we can ship to, we cannot accept your entries. If you reside outside of the US and do have an address that you can ship to in the US, you MUST state that in your entry post or you will automatically be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS. A simple "I have a US address." at the beginning of your post would be fine.
    • There will be different Arachnocontest types. If you win, you will no longer be eligible for that type of Arachnocontest until we start over. This is to give everyone an equal opportunity to win.
    • The Arachnocontest will run for the time stated in the contest thread. Make sure your entries are in before any deadlines stated.
Any further questions, feel free to contact me.

    Scott

    Exotrivia Rules and Regulations

    Exotrivia Rules & Regulations

    The rules are simple:
    • Only 1 guess per person.
    • Do not duplicate someone elses post. Whomever posted it first will be the only one receiving the prize. In other words, there is only ONE winner.
    • Editing your post is not allowed. Make sure you get it right the first time. If your post is edited, you will be disqualified from the current contest.
    • The prize for this Exotrivia contest is your choice (you can only choose one ) of either an Usumbara sling, Tanzanian tailless whipscorpion baby or a Malaysian Scolopendra pling.
    • The contest will run until 5 pm EST on Friday May 23rd, 2003. The winner will be announced at the latest at 8 pm EST the same day.
    • All replies must be made in this thread only. Replies made elsewhere will not count.
    • Your guess must be within 5 of the actual amount.
    • In the event of a tie, we'll come up with a tiebreaker.
    • Exotrivia is brought to you by Exopets.com and Arachnopets.

    Good Luck.

Oh wait, you want to know what the contest is?

Guess what number between 1 - 500 Paul is thinking of.

    Enjoy

    Pronty & All,

There are 3 kinds of giveaways on the site:

    Arachnoraffles, Arachnoquickies and Arachnocontests.

Arachnoraffles: Fundraisers for the site. As long as you pay the entry fee, and have a US address that we can ship to, you are eligible.

Arachnoquickies: Giveaways brought to you by members and Arachnopets. If you've won one of these, then you are ineligible from further Arachnoquickies until we open them up again. We'd like to give different people a chance to win.

Arachnocontests: These are giveaways brought to you by Certified Arachnodealers and Arachnopets. We've currently had 5 different types of Arachnocontests run:

    Frankenspider
    Name that Spider
    Arachnoknowledge
    Cronograms
    Exotrivia

The way the Arachnocontests work is that if you meet the eligibility requirements and have not won a contest of that type before, then you are still eligible. In other words, if you won the Cronograms contest, then you would no longer be eligible for further Cronograms until it opened back up again, but you would be eligible for the other types of Arachnocontests (Frankenspider, Name That Spider, etc.).

In other words, as long as you have a US address to ship to, and post that in your entry, then you are eligible for this Arachnocontest.

    Hope that answers your questions,

    Scott

    ummm....500?

I have a question... Now, you are giving someone a choice out of all these inverts...Why dont(Cant) you do the same thing that we did last time? where we have like 3 winners..One that gets close, one that was kinda close, and one that was kinda close, but not really. Am I makin sence? I just wanted to know why not.....Sorry if I cause a stir of any kind.

Because this isn't the last time. This isn't an Arachnoquickie, it's an Arachnocontest, brought to you by a wonderful invert dealer named Paul who runs a site called Exopets.com. Out of the goodness of his heart and to give something back to the invert community here at Arachnopets, he's sponsoring this contest at no cost to anyone but himself. There's no regulation stating that there must be multiple prizes. In fact, that there were multiple prizes in that Arachnoquickie was an abberation, not the norm. In 99.9% of the cases, there will only be 1 prize per giveaway. Hope that answers your question

Ah, how to go about this? I could go high, low, or middle. I don't want to go middle because that's too wishy-washy. So out of high and low, let's just go high. 473 sounds good.
