hello

anyone who knows?

I have read that p. fera is most venomus, but that this species only can be found in the northern parts of brazil, and seldom come in contact with humans, and that it also is less aggressive, and therfore less dangerous!?
(sorry if my english is not perfect)

Cheers:)

Hi,

i´d be careful to believe this.

I´ve once kept an adult wc female of P. fera and clearly state it has till now been the most aggressive species of Phoneutria i´ve kept so far.

Reports from other persons who´ve dealt with this species second that observation.

Could it be you´re getting P. reidyi and P. fera mixed up? Both can look very similar if you are not used to keep them apart and the statements above make me primarily think about that P. reidyi´s: rather calm and there´re indicators (so no evidence!) that this species may be of lesser toxicity than P. nigriventer.

Take care.

Greetings,

Stefan
