Wednesday Outing: What kind of food?

I have another question about the Wednesday Outing that I need some people to answer. My mom and I have been discussing what kind of food would be best for the picnic. I was thinking along the lines of cold cuts, light sandwiches, and lots of fresh fruit. Or we can grill out some burgers and dogs. Its going to be very hot, remember, so heavy foods might be hard to eat.

If you plan to attend the picnic, please post up your opinion on food. Ill have plenty of beverages to choose from. Whatever we dont drink at the picnic can be used on subsequent field trips.

    Thanks!

    /Sky

    Hi Sky!

I don't think the hassle of cooking hot food is really necessary, especially in the heat. I think fixings for cold sandwiches [basic bread, cold cuts, cheese] is dandy; and I love the idea of loads of fresh fruit. Think easy and refreshing! Nuts and trail mix can also be good energy sources for people who have spent the morning hiking about.

See you in a week, MJ

I don't eat "meat", but cheese and bread will be great

    Yes, sandwiches sound excellent.

    Step 1: Breed Tarantulas
    Step 2: ???
    Step 3: Profit!

Save yourself the trouble of creating new threads to ask us what step 2 is. We've been trying to figure that out for years.

I too am down with the sandwiches. Leaning heavily on the cheese and fruit option.

If it can be classified as food, I'm good.

PB & J sandwiches work for me, though I don't like cheap PB. I like the 100% natural stuff that you have to stir.
